CEA can help you comply with the new regulations through;
- no obligation insulation scopes
- fuss free, professional service, with insulation guaranteed to last up to 50 years
- signed statement of insulation to show auditors and future tenants
Having adequate home insulation is one of the most important, effective ways to keep your property healthy. Home insulation will help keep tenants warm in the winter, reducing the cost of heating the home, and cooler in summer.
We can also offer a no obligation tenant Home Energy Check, where one of our trained assessor will go through the home with the occupants and talk about small, everyday behavioural changes that can be made to better protect your investment. Typically includes information about best practice for how to ventilate the house properly, reducing mould and condensation and power bills.
Special rental package*
As an energy solutions expert, we know that insulation is only part of the issue. That's why we offer a full service package for your rental property that includes:
- insulation scope and installation (discounts may be available)
- free, recycled curtains where needed
- advice and tips for the tenant on how to prevent mould and dampness, protecting both their health, and your investment
- a signed statement of insulation to show auditors and future tenants/buyers
*Conditions apply. Contact us today to arrange your no obligation insulation scope. We may also be able to provide flexible, interest free payment plans.
Is your current insulation good enough?
If your insulation is 10 years old or more, then it’s unlikely to be performing at its best. Insulation does deteriorate over time. Try the hand-span test for an initial assessment to see if your insulation is performing at its best. If your insulation is below/around hand width then it’s unlikely to be performing well and you should consider replacing or topping it up (indication only, get in touch for an insulation scope).
What is insulation?
Insulation is a product that is installed in the roof and underfloor cavities. It works by trapping layers of still air, reducing the heat conductivity, and allowing less warm air to escape your home. If your house is poorly insulated, heating may be less effective and costly to run.
Insulation performance is measured in R values. Over time, insulation compacts, and the effectiveness of it is reduced. If your home was built before 2000, it is likely to need a top up of insulation.
All our insulation products have manufacturer’s guarantees for up to 50 years.
Under section 26 of the Building Act 2004, a ban has been placed on installing foil insulation into residential buildings with existing electrical installation (retrofitting foil insulation), and the repair of foil insulation that has been damaged in any way. This is due to safety concerns about electrocution, and anyone who breaches this ban may be liable to a fine of up to $200,000.
Our staff are trained in safe foil removal, contact us today for more information.
